My Approach
1
Honesty
If you are new to counseling, I will tell you everything you can expect. I value authenticity, transparency and clear communication.
2
Evidence Based Treatment
I use modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Motivational Interviewing so you can reach your goals. I also use Person-Centered Therapy, believing that you have the capacity for growth and healing. I may have you fill out rating scales throughout our sessions so we can reflect on progress and pivot treatment if necessary.
3
Levity
You can expect lightness, humor, and playfulness in a thoughtful and intentional way when appropriate so we have a relaxed atmosphere, build rapport and help you gain perspective on your challenge. You can speak openly and be yourself around me. I don’t judge and I want you to look forward to counseling.

FAQs
Do you accept insurance?
I currently do not accept insurance. I can provide you with documentation you can give to your insurance company for any reimbursement. Stay tuned, I will be accepting insurance in the near future.
What can I expect when I start counseling?
You will be sent intake forms online - I will send you an email so you can log on to your client portal and fill in the information on an online form. If you are doing telehealth, a link will be emailed to you or you can access in the client portal. The first few sessions are intake, meaning we review the questions on your intake form and we discuss what you are seeking help with. You can ask questions too and let me know your concerns. After we get to know each other, we collaborate and develop goals to work on in a treatment plan. If you are a go getter, I can give you “homework” to work on between sessions - this could be completing a mini goal, reading a part of a book, tracking a behavior or writing a journal prompt.
How long will I need counseling?
The length of counseling depends on individual needs and goals. Some clients may experience significant improvement in a few sessions, while others take longer. I think though that once a client learns strategies, coping skills and develops the right mindset, you do not need counseling long-term. But, this is ultimately up to you and clients can always come back for check-ins. Some clients need twice a week sessions, a weekly session, every other week or once a month session. We can figure this out together.
Is everything I share in therapy confidential?
Everything you share in counseling is confidential, except in cases where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, as required by law. I’ll explain these limits to confidentiality in our first session.
